What is SENTIENT Fest? (formerly known as the Northeast Naturist Festival or NENF). We are a Body Honor, Body Justice and Body Autonomy with self and others in nature! We are a CONSENT FIRST event! The canvas for the event is the beautiful wooded grounds, mountain air, evening starlit sky’s above and the community created that abides by our guidelines!
Who we are: We are a highly intentioned “pop-up” community of individuals, couples and families that come from around the world to convene with nature in a spa-like environment. Attendees get to choose from a selection of over 150 personal enrichment workshops.
What we offer: 150 CONSENT First activities over 6 days! This includes opening circle, daily keynote speakers, evening concerts, art exhibits, Paytra’s Coffeehouse, ecstatic dances, Club Soma, documentary film festival, beer/cider/cheese tasting from regional award winning favorites, arts corridor, forest bathing, silent disco in nature, gong sound baths, drum circle, community building exercises, camp fires/bon fires, yoga, women’s and men’s intensives, free body painting, perma-culture, photography, tai-chi, water aerobics, Kidz Club, nature walks, non-denominational ceremonies, team sports (Pickleball, Petanque, Volleyball), closing circle and much, much MORE!

Every year we elevate our event by offering new and vital facilitators, performers, volunteers and workshop providers! If you are interested in being a participant please see our application portal along with filling out our “Festival Warm-Up” and viewing our Code of Conduct!
Where are we?: We are centrally located just an hour south of Syracuse, NY and 30 minutes north of Ithaca, NY (a small city rich in the arts and culinary delights, home of Buttermilk & Taughannock Falls, Ithaca Farmers Market, Cornell & Ithaca College and world renowned for its wine trail). Just minutes from the Festival are Cortland (home of SUNY Cortland and the Seedstock Festival), Homer (Homer Center for the Arts) and Moravia, NY. All these locales offer activities, eateries, shopping and grocery stores.
The festival itself takes place at scenic Empire Haven Nudist Resort and Campground (celebrating their 60th anniversary of clothing optional camping) http://www.empirehaven.net. The camp sits 1600 feet above sea level (the air is delicious!)is geographically located beside the Summerhill State Forest and sits on a secluded hilltop above Fillmore Glen State Park and Owasco Lake. Empire Haven is a full service campground featuring raw tent camping as well as upgrades that feature water and electric. Amenities include heated pool, hot tubs, horseshoes, pickleball court, large outdoor pavilion, spring fed pond for catch and release fishing, golf cart rental, rustic cabins, RV camping, Clubhouse and Snackbar and so much more!
For lovers of American history, there is a historical landmark just minutes from the camp which represents the birthplace of Millard Fillmore, the 13th President of the United States! In addition is the wonderful New York State Equal Rights Heritage Center located just 20 minutes away in Auburn, NY!
